Belarus-Ethiopia
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia were established on May 18, 1994.
In the period from October 13 to 15, 2014, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus H.E. Mr. Valentin Rybakov has visited Ethiopia. During the visit, the first round of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Ethiopia was held, as well as a business forum in the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce.
June 1, 2021, H.E. Mr. Pavel Vziatkin, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Kenya and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (non-resident), presented his credentials to H.E. Ns. Sahle-Work Zewde, Hon. President of Ethiopia.
The legal base of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia is under development.
The following bilateral regulatory documents were signed: Protocol on Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Ethiopia (November 2012); Memorandum of cooperation between the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce (October 2014); Memorandum of Understanding between the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus and the National Bank of Ethiopia (December 2015).
At this stage, work is underway to prepare for the signing of the following bilateral regulatory documents: Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments; Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Education between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Education of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia; Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on military and technical cooperation; Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and on property (capital); Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic and Official (Service) Passports.

Traditional articles of Belarusian exports to Ethiopia are tractors and other agricultural machinery, freight vehicles, metal products, etc.
The basis of Ethiopian imports to Belarus is formed by the supply of flowers and buds, coffee, dried legumes and other vegetables.
