VISAS TO THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS
Information on visa-free travel via checkpoint “Minsk National Airport”
- Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 295. The document introduces the visa-free entry through the border checkpoint at the Minsk National Airport and the visa-free stay in Belarus for up to 30 days (29 nights 30 days) for the citizens of 74 states (click to see the list of countries). Visitors have to enter and leave Belarus via the Minsk National Airport (by air/plane).
- These are 39 countries of Europe, including the entire European Union, Brazil, Indonesia, the USA, Japan. New regulations also apply to the non-citizens of Latvia and stateless persons of Estonia.
- REQUIREMENTS: а valid ordinary passport (must be valid at least 90 days beyond intended date of departure from Belarus); money (around €20 for each day); medical insurance policy with coverage at least €10,000, valid in Belarus during the whole duration of stay.
- The citizens of Vietnam, Haiti, Gambia, Honduras, India, China, Lebanon, Namibia, Samoa should also have a valid multi-visa to the EU states or the Schengen Area with a mark confirming the entry to their territory, plane tickets with a confirmation of the departure from the Minsk National Airport within 30 days after the date of the entry. A residence permit of the EU countries is not a basis for visa-free visits to Belarus in this case.
- The visa-free regime does not apply to people arriving to Belarus by plane from Russia and planning to go to the airports of Russia (these are internal flights with no border control).

Entry visas may be single-, double- and multiple-entry
- a single-entry visa entitles to a single entry, stay and departure from the Republic of Belarus for the period specified in the visa and within a specified number of days of stay, but not more than 90 days
- a double-entry visa entitles to a double entry, stay and departure from the Republic of Belarus for the period specified in the visa and within a specified number of days of stay, but not more than 90 days
- a multiple-entry visa entitles to numerous (more than 2) entries, stays and departures from the Republic of Belarus for the period specified in the visa and within a specified number of days of stay, but not more than 90 days per year
VISA REQUIREMENTS
In order to obtain a Belarusian visa the following documents should be submitted (brought in person) to the Consular and Visa Section of the Embassy:
1. One duly completed visa application form (click here)
- the visa application form should be filled out in legible handwriting or typing (in BLOCK LETTERS), in English or Russian/ Belarusian
- answers to the questions should be complete and logically consistent and indicate the real purpose of the visit
- the purpose of the visit should be specified in detail
- if a question does not apply, please, write “N/A”, incomplete forms will be returned to the applicants unprocessed
- it is the applicant’s responsibility to check whether the information given on the form is correct
- the application form should be signed by the applicant personally; failure to observe this requirement may result in refusal of the application
- the visa application form for a minor should be signed by their legal representative
2. One colour photograph, which meets the following requirements:
- not older than 6 months
- size 35x45 mm
- full face (70-80 % of the picture) without sunglasses, hat or other head covering unless for ethnic or religious reasons
- plain, evenly lit and light background
- high resolution
- no corrugation or ink is allowed
3. A valid original passport or travel document which
- contains a photograph of the owner
- has at least two blank pages intended for visas
- is valid for at least 90 days after the expected departure date from the Republic of Belarus
- is not dubious in terms of authenticity or ownership
- contains no torn pages, marks, entries, erasures and corrections that are not certified by the issuing authorities of the respective foreign state
- ATTENTION — if the applicant is under 18 years old – a COPY of full Birth Certificate (contains information about parents) and copies of passports of the applicant’s parents (legal representatives)
- if the applicant previously had USSR or Belarusian citizenship – a document certifying the loss of the USSR or Belarusian citizenship must be submitted to the Embassy

- Please note that visa support documents remain in the consular section of the Embassy after the consideration of an application for a Belarusian visa.
5. A COPY of the obligatory health insurance certificate form a foreign medical insurance company or a letter from your bank/company which should contain the following information:
- the name and address of the foreign insurance company (bank), it`s phone number
- the name of the foreign citizen covered by the insurance
- the territorial validity should include the Republic of Belarus (Should be written Belarus, Europe incl. Belarus or Worldwide);
- it should be valid for the period of your staying in the Republic of Belarus;
- the minimum limit of responsibility of the medical insurance is 10 000 Euro.

6. Additional documents required (by request of the consular officer).
PAYMENT METHODS:
Payment of the consular fee for a visa can only be made in cash in euros, US dollars, Kenyan shillings.
Visa processing time and visa fee:
- We strongly recommend to apply for your visa in advance
- 5 working days – standard processing time (€60)
- within 48 hours (usually during the appointment) – express processing time (€120)
