5th regular session of the UNEP Environment Assembly

At the end of February 2021, an online meeting of the 5th regular session of the UN-UNEP Environment Assembly was held.

The delegation of the Embassy together with the delegation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus took part in the work of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of UNEP and the meeting of the Assembly.

As a result of the work, documents related to the administrative and technical directions of the work of UNEP and the formation of the budget and budget policy were adopted. The UNEP Medium-term Strategy for 2022-2025 was approved and adopted for implementation, with the comments and amendments of the Member States, including the Belarusian side, taken into account.

The address of the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Khudyk on the achievements of the Republic of Belarus in the field of sustainable development and green technologies to the Assembly and the Member States is posted on the website of the UNEP Assembly.
